Awaiting the dance

Silently she waits in the crowd asking none but the shadows to dance with her.


First little drawing in my new moleskine sketchbook. I'm rather happy with her.

She started off as a character in a dream, I think she was ment to be Vanessa Ives from Penny Dreadful, though she looks nothing alike. I mostly remembered her dress from the dream, there was a lot of detail to the front of the dress as well but I decided to focus on the back. The version in my dream was more Edwardian than how the drawing came out and the transparent netting covered more of her back, something I wish I'd done here, it isn't too obvious what the clusters of beads are sitting on.

Not sure about the moleskine though to be honest, it's good, but I can't go that dark with pencil on it. Is it more for pens people like them?
